UFC 67 and the Super Bowl

UFC 67 is about an hour or so away. I will make my predictions now so I can't be called a liar later ;) I will only give my pick on the championship fight tonight.

Up for the middleweight championship, Travis Lutter will be challenging the current champ Anderson "The Spider" Silva. Travis Lutter is the middleweight winner of the reality show TUF 4. Silva is just a beast with knee's flying in every direction. I have seen both fight and my prediction is that Silva will win by knock out, or submission, by the end of the 3rd round.

Two other fights will stand out tonight. Mirko Cro Cop and Quintin "Rampage" Jackson will make their debut in the UFC tonight. Both are coming from the "less regulated" (read: more brutal) Pride FC and I expect them both to win their fights tonight. One thing to remember is "Rampage" Jackson is the only man to have beaten Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. Yes, I know Randy Couture won a fight against Chuck back in 2003, but the fight was stopped due to a cut, not because he was losing necessarily.

Should be a good group of fights tonight!

Super Bowl XLI - I am not a big football guy but I always get into the playoffs and of course, the super bowl. This year its the Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts. Current point spread has Indy favored by 6.5 points (-6.5) and the over/under at 48 points. I think the Colts will win the ring, but won't cover the spread. My bet is going on the Bears to cover. I have a feeling it will be a close game, regardless of what everyone else has been yelling. This will come down to defense, and I think the Bears will come with everything they have. I will also be taking the under. I can't imagine this game scoring more than 48 points combined.

Let's see how it all turns out...
